Niche Application |
Niche Application
Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) has been awarded niche programme status in 2008 for Drama and Waterpolo.
The niche programme better supports mainstream secondary schools with good talent development programmes and proven track records of achievement in their declared niches. These schools receive MOE funding and can admit up to 5% of their Secondary One intake on a discretionary basis through the Direct School Admission (DSA) exercise, so that a more diverse range of student achievement and talents can be recognised.
We invite you to apply for consideration of admission to ACS (Barker Road) in the niche programmes.

Audition Requirements and Assessment for Drama
Students will be required to come to auditions with a prepared piece of prose, play/scene or poem and perform a dramatic reading and interpretation of it.
They will be assessed in voice projection, articulation, ability to interpret character, depiction of nuances of speech and emotion. This will be followed by an interview conducted which will assess their passion and interest in drama and also include a discussion on their interest in the technical aspects of drama production i.e. script writing, lighting, sound, stage set design, to explore the possibilities of further developing their interest in the craft.
